Bully Beatdown!

My father used to tell me that if a person walks into a bar and challenges anyone to a fight, one day someone just may take the person up on the challenge. Well, it's finally time to take off the gloves and slap down the barroom bully. Self proclaimed "authorities" such as Supreme Court justices, college professors, high school teachers, movie and television personalities, so-called religious leaders, and a host of other influential people have been embolden over the course of the last few years to ridicule, intimidate, and punish anyone who takes a social, political, or religious view different from theirs. Intimidation has become the order of the day and yielding a big stick and carrying it with cruel intent has been the modus operandi. The latest cover up by the Obama administration regarding the collection of U.S. citizens' personal information and the distribution of this material to various governmental agencies for political harassment has sent chills up and down the collective spines of liberals and conservatives alike and has indicated to all that there will be repercussions for any dissent. Or the recent Supreme Court ruling declaring federal law as unconstitutional the definition of the institution of marriage as between one man and one woman. Incidents like these have have stoked a fire in the hearts of many people and have caused them to educate themselves and get involved with challenging these people and their views. For too long, people have trusted their government to look out for their communities and personal welfare, protect their God-given rights, and provide strong leadership both internationally and domestically. That naive belief has now dissipated.

 

As Christians, the heat has been turned up significantly on our beliefs, definitions, and answers for mankind's problems. Having been marginalized to the outer limits of society, scriptural answers to today's problems are rejected outright because of their so-called "religious content" and unenlightened source! It is no wonder that the modern day church is content to remain behind its four walls, allowing the blind to lead the blind, or to join forces with the Philistines and their enlightened visions. Instead of confronting the culture with a John-the-Baptist rebuke, we sit mildly by on the cultural sidelines, allowing "the experts" to define and direct our society with their vision of righteousness and justice. Check out the following video to see that there are other "religious views" that are not taking this challenge lightly and are encouraged and determined to shout their "religious views" from the house tops. Oh, that we Christians would be so bold!

In this present hour, dominance for the culture and society will be won by someone with a "religious idea." Sometimes these "religious views" are hidden from sight through basic assumptions while other times they are plainly and boldly declared openly. Please understand this - there is no such thing as a society that is founded on something other than "religious ideas," no matter what the secularists say to convince us otherwise. Someone's "religious idea" will be enacted as THE foundational law of the land and all other laws will flow from this foundation. The job of Christians today is to lay a strong foundation (Ezra 6:3) by converting the culture, disciplining the nations with the law of God, and seeing righteousness once again established as the standard that brings freedom, prosperity, and safety to all who take refuge under its wings. Anything other than that is to surrender the precious gifts that God has given us and embrace the shackles of slavery and tyranny that accompany all other "religious ideas." May we face all the present bullies with courage, knowledge, and determination that God provides and never give up until our jobs are finished or until we are called home. Let us fight this good fight no matter what the cost.

I Don't "CAIR"!

Over the past weekend, the City of Melvindale held its annual summer carnival and festival. This weekend has been historically called Melvindale Days since its inception in the early 1980s and has continued to be an event anticipated by local youth. The festival has evolved over time and has come to include different types of music, games, food, and carnival rides. The festival usually begins on a Thursday and ends on a Sunday night with a fireworks show that is very spectacular for a small city on a limited budget. People from all over Melvindale as well as the Detroit and Downriver areas come out for the grand finale and the unofficial beginning of the summer vacation season.

While watching the fireworks over the course of the past few years, I've noticed the presence of many veiled Muslim women and their children enjoying the rides, games, and events surrounding the festival. While this is not an uncommon occurrence to those who live near the southwestern section of Detroit, I must admit that their presence was very noticeable to all because of their distinct style of dress. I mention this fact only because these women's dress was an outward and visible symbol to all who saw them of their religious identification and commitment. They made no bones about who they were and proudly and unashamedly let the world know.

When I thought about how most Christian women and men identify themselves with Christ, clear and unfortunate distinctions could be made. Instead of openly identifying themselves with Christ, they prefer the secluded confines of the local "church" walls. Instead of studying to show themselves approved in the handling of God's Word, they have settled for spiritual soundbites, clever and witty sayings, or packaged sermons usually delivered with no conviction or challenge to change and with not much depth of Biblical understanding. A scene and line from The Dark Knight Rises came to my mind concerning these Muslim women. The Joker on a couple of occasions would ask his would be victim "Why so serious?" I'll tell you why they are so serious about their faith. They believe they are right, they believe all others are wrong, and they want to serve their god with all their heart, mind, soul and strength. They display to all their true allegiance and discard all other faiths or contradictory laws and teachings. They are not satisfied in only living their lives and being happy. Instead, they are on a mission to spread Islam throughout the world and to see it dominate all aspects of life. From politics to business to education, Islam is a worldview not willing to tolerate competing ideas. Total domination is its far reaching goal and all of life must submit to this demonic endgame.

Many of you may be saying to yourselves that I'm using hyperbole and overstating Islam's goal and dedication to exaggerate perceived dangers in motivating people to a deeper commitment to Christ. Maybe you believe the many issues I regularly speak about could never happen here. However, please read the following article carefully and let it be a wake up call to all Christians to see that the battle that confronts us and our children and their futures is now at our doorstep!

About that “religion of peace” and tolerance, this is how it really works. Muslim supremacism is at the top, everything else is at the bottom. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is leading the charge by pushing for public school policy, and they’re getting it. CAIR’s impact in the public school system is now being seen in two cases in Michigan. The first comes from one of CAIR’s press releases, dated October of 2012, in which CAIR had bullied a local school system due to information being passed out about a private Bible Study class (something, by the way, that used to actually be part of the public education system in this country).

According to the press release:

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) said today that a Detroit-area school district has apologized for handing out permission slips for Bible study classes to elementary school students.

CAIR-MI sent a letter to Roseville Public Schools after receiving a complaint from two parents of children who attend Huron Park Elementary School about distribution by teachers of permission slips for the Bible classes at a local Baptist church.

In his letter to the school district, CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid wrote in part:

“School staff and teachers are not to serve as advocates for one particular religion or congregation within a religion by passing out slips inviting parents to give permission for their children to attend religious instruction. . . According to the United States Supreme Court, the First Amendment clearly requires that public school students and their parents are never given the impression that their school/school district prefers a specific religion over others or sanctions religion in general.”

A school district official today apologized to CAIR-MI for the distribution of the permission slips and said district principals will discuss the issue at an upcoming meeting.

“We thank school district officials for taking quick and appropriate action once this violation of religious neutrality was brought to their attention,” said Walid.

He said CAIR offers a booklet, called “An Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices,” that is designed to help school officials provide a positive learning environment for students of all faiths.

First of all, let me make one thing crystal clear for anyone espousing the nonsense that education, or anything for that matter, can be “religiously neutral.” Everything - education, work, home, community, and anything in life - boils down to being viewed through one’s worldview, or belief system (which we usually refer to as “religion”).

Second, notice the hypocrisy and downright deceptiveness of CAIR. They scream and decry permission slips to attend a Bible study, but have no problem providing these same facilities, which they want to be religiously neutral, with “An Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices.” There is a direct attack on Christianity, as if the Islamic anti-Christian doctrines found in the Qur’an and Hadiths along with the mass murders of Christians worldwide they engage in weren’t enough.

In another article from April 2013, CAIR shows just how religiously "neutral" they really are:

The Council on American Islamic Relations of Michigan (CAIR-MI) staff recently met with Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston to discuss concerns from some parents regarding prayer accommodations in Dearborn Public Schools.

Dearborn Public Schools has implemented a policy which fully accommodates student-led prayer in all the schools, as well as unexcused absences for students who leave early on Fridays for Jumu’ah prayers. CAIR-MI is currently in discussion with Melvindale Public Schools to get similar accommodations for students that are now in place for Dearborn Public Schools.

Get it? Islam wants to cry that they are the victims, but the reality is that they are the aggressors. They complain about a permission slip for an off-campus Bible study, saying it was a “violation of religion neutrality,” and within months they push the school board to accommodate Islamic prayers in public schools, even granting excused absences for students who leave early for Jumu-ah prayers.

Islam is no longer a religion that is quarantined to the Middle East. It has aggressively spread like a cancer into most countries and universities of the civilized world, bringing with it a way of life determined to exterminate or subdue all opposition. Its adherents are zealous in their commitment and evangelization to their god and have an ultimate goal they are working and living toward. Leaving in its wake once it gains ascendancy in a nation will be cultures and societies devoid of all basic Christian human rights and oppression the like of which the world hasn't seen since the godless communist epidemic. Surely what I am writing about can't happen here, can it? Don't look now, but it already is...
