If I Ran the Circus!

While watching the unbelievable chutzpah of the 2012 Democratic Convention in South Carolina, I couldn't help think about an old Dr. Seuss book entitled If I Ran the Circus and its parallel story line to the Democratic Convention. The book was about a young boy who had quite a fertile imagination and wondered endlessly about what he would do if he the opportunity to run a circus. The story begins with Little Morris McGurk daydreaming about some vacant property behind Mr. Sneelock's neighborhood store. As Richard Farr from the Amazon book review puts it: "Little Morris McGurk is convinced that if he could just clear out the rusty cans, the dead tree, and the old cars, he would have no further obstacles to using the lot for the amazing, the world-beating, Circus McGurkus." The more elaborate Morris' dreams about the circus become, the more they depend on sleepy-looking, innocent Mr. Sneelock, who stands outside his ramshackle store sucking on a pipe, oblivious to the fate that awaits him in the depths of Morris's imagination. He doesn't yet know that he'll have to dispense 500 gallons of lemonade, be lassoed by a Wily Walloo, wrestle a Grizzly-Ghastly, and ski down a slope dotted with giant cacti. But if his performance is up to McGurkian expectations, then "Why, ladies and gentlemen, youngsters and oldsters, your heads will quite likely spin right off your shouldsters!" Welcome to the big top and the freak show!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 2012 Democratic Convention's big top where your heads will literally spin right off your shoulders! The Democrats cleared out the backyard of all the homeless in Charlotte, erected their all inclusive "big tent," and put on a "show" that had to be seen to be believed! Instead of acrobats flying through the air with the greatest of ease or lion trainers putting their heads in the mouths of ferociously hungry lions, it was party hacks doing back handstands or trying to take their collective feet out of their mouths in attempts to divert our attention away from a self-inflicted train wreck and to try to convince us viewers that what we just saw and heard did not really happen the way we saw and heard it. And if that wasn't enough to keep us confused and mesmerized in our seats, there was the freakish parade of abortion right supporters given every golden prime time opportunity to spew their brew of venom and death!

Earlier in September, the Democratic Party Delegates voted to remove wording from their party platform that mentioned "Jerusalem" as the capital of Israel and the word "God," both of which had been used in their previous national platforms. When the national press, as well as the Republican Party, got hold of the changes, a national outrage of criticism ensued! The longtime faithful Democratic supporters from the "religious sectors" (black churches) quickly expressed outrage and indignation over the removal and snub. Never mind that the Christian "God" hasn't been part of the Democratic Party platform for quite some time with their unbending support of abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, removal of prayer or Christian symbols from the public arena, and a host of other anti-Biblical beliefs and laws that they constantly champion. Quickly sensing that the political apple cart was about to be overturned by their mindless blunders and buffoonery, Democratic leaders acted quickly, decisively, desperately, and deceptively to plug the proverbial dam before it reached the critical stage of no return.

Watch the following three videos for a progression of confusion, ineptitude, backtracking, and outright lying by people who want to "run the country" and lead us all into a "brighter future"! Showing a total disregard for their own party delegates' concerns, they did whatever the hell they wanted to regardless of what anyone said or thought.

I use these videos to illustrate the underhanded and treacherous political pandering of this very influential political party. True - the Republican Party has its own assortment of spin doctors and political hacks, but its "platform" is much more in line with Biblical values and beliefs, and it's spin doctors and hacks are usually trying to spin the deceptions of the "left" back to the truth. The acknowledgment of God, the sanctity of life, the God-ordained institutions of marriage and family, the rejection of homosexual relations as "natural," and a host of many other culturally relevant issues clearly should indicate to all who profess Christianity as their religion that there is a clear difference between these two political parties and their respective platforms. Failure to see the complete difference would indicate to me that someone's "Christianity" is shallow, uniformed, and not enlightened by the Holy Scriptures. Like Little Morris McGurk's wild dreaming about his fantasy circus, the Democratic Party circus is just as imaginary and unrealistic in its vision and goals. At the end of the day, everyone will be just as exasperated as Mr. Sneelock - the fictional store owner - at the unrealistic promises that have gone unfulfilled and the revolutionary anti-Christian worldview that has been enacted into law! The circus just left town and my head is still spinning!
